Dina Remi was born in 1981 in Scottsdale Arizona. Being born to a very artistic family, it was no surprise that Dina began to show artistic promise at the young age of five. Her early doodles were always funny, whimsical characters that were usually followed up with a story or poem created deep from within.
It wasn't until college that Dina put paint on canvas. Her palette of colors were deep, bold jewel tones which brought her characters to life. Her trademark was and still is the soulful eyes of her subjects which draws you into the painting.
Dina's passion for art lead her to The Art Institute of Phoenix, where she received her degree in Graphic Design. While attending the Institute, Dina entered one of her pieces in an annual student art show. Her piece took first place, and then went on to be entered in a contest put on by Kings College in New York City. Her piece was displayed in the Empire State building along with others for several days.
Dina's unusual style and use of dramatic colors has opened many doors of opportunity. She has been featured on two segments of ABC channel 15, Sonoran Living and has given her talents to several charitable causes in the Valley.
In April 2004, Dina had her first "One Woman" show in down town Scottsdale. She sold out all but one piece in less than two hours and was commissioned to do several custom pieces.
Dina's strong faith influences her paintings and her desire is to display that in each one of her pieces. Dina's art is collected nation wide as well as internationally. She continues to mature and evolve in her art and is very excited about what the future holds.
Dina's art is currently being shown at Naked Horse Gallery, Scottsdale, AZ
